The first Dacia Duster Electric is a unique prototype developed by Metaplast. Built on the foundation of a diesel Duster originally destined for scrapping, the project transformed it into a fully electric SUV. The conversion process, which cost over €100,000, spanned nearly two years. Direct involvement in the core development lasted about one year, with the total timeline extended by several related projects.
