Concept
To better understand this new challenge, we began with a study of reconversion, transforming the well known Dacia Duster into an electrical car. The goal of the project was to overcome the unknown, and have a little fun while doing it. Our DUSTER has an electric engine from Nissan Leaf 2, developing 160kw (215hp), and a pack of 6 battery cells from VW ID3, with a power of 55 kw/h. The range is 300 km. The car is 100% functional, although the goal is to keep it as a show car, a concept car made to promote our electric vehicle chargers.
Conversion
All the modification and adaptation for the electric modules and components was done in house. The mechanical modifications and adaptations was done with the help of a local tunning garage, AFS (Air Force Suspension). The engine is mounted in the front, replacing the old internal combustion engine. The battery pack is custom made, located on back of the car, on top of the rear axle. This way the wieght distribution is not affected too much by the weight of the batteries.
Exterior
The exterior of the DUSTER was inspired from the Pikes Peak Dacia Duster prototype. Custom wide body kit (PRIOR Design) with a custom paint and livery. 21 inch wheels with 245 front 275 rear tyres, and a completely custom air ride suspension (made by AFS). Custom aero disks with functional air ducts.
Interior
Interior was design with a racing feeling. Custom hald cage (AFS) with 2 motorsport bucket seats and 6 points harness. Custom carbon steering wheel, custom carbon elements, custom cluster with custom graphics, alcantara interior (rooftop and pillars), black theme with a touch of red.
Theme
Topographic theme livery on the outside is inspired from the EXTREME version of the actual Dacia Duster. Personality touch with a custom green color with plastic parts in shiny piano black compliments the wide geometry of the body. EV inspired new custom front grille with electrical circuits design theme, LED backlit. New DACIA logo injected with a special speckled material.
