On November 22, 2024, MP Industry Group, a subsidiary of MEN Industry Group and a leading Romanian manufacturer of plastic components for the automotive industry, inaugurated its first plant in Tanger Automotive City, part of the Tanger Med Industrial Platform. This facility represents a major step in the company’s international growth.
The inauguration ceremony included Mr. Ryad Mezzour, Minister of Industry and Commerce, Mr. Ahmed Bennis, Managing Director of Tanger Med Zones, Mr. Jean Drugescu, Chairman and CEO of Metaplast and MP Industry Group, and Mr. Dan Iacoban, Managing Director of MP Industry Group Morocco. Additionally, other senior Moroccan officials attended the event.
The plant covers 35,000 m². It will produce high-precision plastic automotive parts using granulate injection molding technology in steel molds. Furthermore, the investment of 437.6 million MAD will create 150 direct jobs, boosting local employment.
According to Mr. Mezzour, the project is strategically important for the Moroccan automotive industry. “This facility is part of the Renault ecosystem. It will expand local value chains, increase production capacity, and strengthen Morocco’s position in automotive manufacturing,” he said.
Mr. Bennis added that the partnership with MP Industry Group and Romanian investors will also support industrial integration and enhance international competitiveness.
Meanwhile, Mr. Drugescu highlighted growth opportunities in Africa. He explained, “With Morocco’s support, MP Industry Group will strengthen its integration into the local automotive sector. As a result, we will deliver high-quality plastic components while proudly carrying our slogan: ‘We are Moroccans.’”
